Römer Fördertechnik GmbH (RFT), based in Wetter/Ruhr, Germany, is a second-generation family business. RFT is specialized in the development and production of crane and industrial components.

Since being founded by Dr. Eng. Roland Römer in 1982, the company has grown up to four plants and covers more than 11,000 m².

The extensive product range includes hydraulic buffers, dampers, industrial brake systems, couplings, storm brakes / rail clamps, guide roller systems, bottom hook blocks, wheels as well as telescopic forks. They are exclusively engineered, manufactured and continuously developed at RFT’s own factory in Germany. The products can be found in applications all over the world and are installed at leading companies worldwide.

A development that should not be underestimated development was made by one of the first well-known RÖMER company “HANNS UND RÖMER”, founded in 1907.

The company produced rolling machines and complete production lines for sweets. One of the most popular developments was the patented production machine for “pipe lollipops”. These lollipops are still available on the global world market.

The successful family history was continued by Dr. Eng. Roland Eugen Römer. He began his professional career during his studies at the University of Bochum. During his time as an assistant at the university, tests and experiments became reality and the first own production hall was founded in 1982. The company “Römer Fördertechnik GmbH / RFT” has grown since its foundation to four plants and covers an area of more than 11.000 m².
