Drum Brakes for bridges and sluices type RWS

The RWS drum brakes from Römer Fördertechnik have been specially developed for use in bridge and lock systems. They offer maximum reliability, high braking force and are designed for continuous use under demanding conditions. Ideal for safety-critical applications with high loads

The RWS brake, also known as the Rijkswaterstaat brake, meets and goes beyond the requirements of a standard drum brake according to DIN 15435 – perfectly matched to the safety systems of bridges and sluices.

  • Specially designed for bridge and sluice systems – reliable and robust
  • 2-stage brake / Time-delayed braking using the second brake spring
  • MADE IN GERMANY. – for the highest manufacturing quality and reliability

In addition, the following features are provided to ensure the specific safety requirements for RWS brakes:

  • Two limit switches (“brake open” / “brake closed”) for a clear status display
  • Eccentric hand lifting device
  • Heating element
  • All pins made of stainless steel, with grease nipples for re-greasing all important linkagepoints
  • Adjustable braking torque for flexible adaptation to operating situations
  • Organic brake pads (bonded), friction coefficient µ dyn = 0,4
  • 2-component paint finish in RAL 7024 – long-lasting and resistant

Design 1: Type RWS-RT Special features: Single spring system with synchronous mechanism – smooth and consistent braking

Design 2: Type RSW-RT2F Special features: 2-brake spring system and synchronous mechanism. The first spring brakes the system smoo and consistently. The second spring holds the system firmly in place with increased braking torque to prevent unwanted movement of the system.

The second time-delayed brake spring at type RWS-RT2F avoid unwanted lowering situations on bridges and sluices.

  • Special designs: customized exactly to your project
  • Individual painting possible – e.g. for special environments or branding
  • Further limit switch for position controlling

  • Bridge/Sluice systems
