About the product
The RWS, also known as Rijkswaterstaat-Brake has additional features compared to a standard drum brakes acc. to DIN 15435 to increase safety during the braking process.

To meet specific safety criteria for RWS brakes, the following additional features are provided.
- 2 limit switches for „brake opened / closed“
- Eccentric hand lifting device
- Heating element
- All pins made of stainless steel, with grease nipples for re-greasing all important linkagepoints
- Adjustable braking torque
- Organic brake pads (bonded), friction coefficient µ dyn = 0,4,
- 2-Component coating / Standard painting RAL 7024
Design 1: Type RWS-RT
One spring application with synchro lifting mechanism
Design 2: Type RWS-RT2F
Two spring application with synchro lifting mechanism. The first spring is used for stopping the moving system smoothly. The second spring afterwards is holding the system with a higher torque, to protect the system against unwanted movements.
The second time-delayed brake spring at type RWS-RT2F avoid unwanted lowering situations on bridges and sluices.
